Every structure needs a solid foundation.  Without a sure base, the quality of a building will be wobbly, weak, and unstable.  The same is true of our Christian life.  So many of us are trying to establish our walk with the Lord without the fundamental foundation of faith -  knowing who we are in Christ.  The absence of this understanding results in a cracked foundation.  Holding on to things such as bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness will produce numerous cracks in our foundation.

A strong foundation is constructed on kingdom principles such as righteousness, repentance, trust, and peace.  It must be clear that what we do is a result of our who - who we are in Christ.  We are saved by God's grace, through faith in what Jesus did - not by what we do.  Out of this understanding, we begin to conform to righteousness in thought, word, and deed.
