Leaders are often under pressure to do something extraordinary to please their followers. They would do anything to please the people. Many of these leaders have often incurred the displeasure of God in the process.
Pressure from people has the tendency to cause leaders to make serious mistakes. At a certain point they cannot hear from God anymore because of the conflicting voices of the people. They end up groping in the darkness of uncertainty.
When leaders are driven against their free will to do anything, they do it with grief. Although the people may think that they are having their demands met whenever the leader succumbs to their pressure, the reality is that when the leader grudgingly yields to them, it is unprofitable for all the parties involved.
No leader wants to be led. No head delights in being pushed around. No master wants to be controlled by his servants.
